Temperature record almost 40 degrees was recorded at 7 pm on the last day of August in at least ten cities in Europe, according to data published on the Ogimet website.

The hottest city in Europe is Batman in Turkey with 39.8 degrees Celsius, and in second place is the town of Lefke in Cyprus with 39.6 degrees. The third hottest city is Şanliurfa in Turkey with 38.9 degrees, the fourth is Groseto in Italy with 38.4 degrees, followed by another city in Turkey, Adijaman with 38.1 degrees.

In sixth place is Florence in Italy (38 °C), then in seventh Dijarbakir in Turkey with 37.6 degrees, and in eighth place is Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina with 37.5 degrees.

In ninth place is Sirt with 37.3 degrees, and in tenth is Orte in Italy with 37.1 degrees.

According to Ogimet data, these ten cities are the hottest in Europe out of 2819 measuring stations.

At the same time, the coldest at 7 pm was in two places in Norway – Juvashoe where it was -1.4 degrees and in Gaustatopenu -0.9 degrees.
